Thursday morning (term-time only)

In our chapel room at the Church.

Whether you are a mum or dad, grandparent, childminder or simply a friend helping out, you are very welcome to come along.  We are a relaxed and friendly informal group and we run generally as follows:

At 10.00 a.m. we open up when people come in and chat together while the children play with our toys.  We have a good selection of both small and large toys including dolls, trains, baby toys, play cooker, plastic animals, toys to ride on and a small sturdy slide.

Refreshments

At 10.20 a.m. we begin serving refreshments to everyone.  For the children, we serve juice, water or milk according to your needs or preferences and for the adults we serve teas and coffee.   For everyone we serve biscuits and fruit on a rotated basis and sometimes even cake!     

If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.  We finish serving refreshments officially!!! at 10.45 a.m., but if you arrive late, don’t worry we won’t leave you gasping!

Crafts

At 10.30 a.m. we begin a children’s craft activity. Virtually every week we organise a children’s craft activity which runs for approximately half an hour.   We do lots of different things but regularly we do painting, (aprons provided), play dough and cutting and sticking.

Singing

At 11.00 a.m. we have a time of singing – some Christian choruses and some nursery rhymes.

(The children really love this!!)

At 11.30 a.m. we clear up and say goodbye!

Baby Changing Facilities and space for prams?

We have two sizeable newly furbished toilets, one of which has a dresser changer complete with changing mat, wipes and nappy bags for you to use! The other toilet is a disabled toilet designed for wheelchair access. We also have ample space for parking prams, buggies etc.. in our front entrance hall.

Who runs the group and how long has it been running?

All of us who are involved in running ‘Mother’s and Toddler’s’ are dedicated members of the church; and as this is a work which the church as a whole has pledged to support and finance – our group is free of charge!

We are into our third year now but have only recently recommenced due to our recent church extension – many thanks go to the builders, who have done a sterling job and managed to complete the work without disrupting any of the services!
