The Aims of the Club We live in a world where the importance of teaching our children about God seems to be a thing of the past. Children today know very little about Him and their thoughts of God are not just basic, but sometimes non-existent. It is the aim of this church-based club to give them this invaluable knowledge of a mighty God, a wonderful creator and a loving Saviour.
In recent months we have been looking at
the lives of Old Testament judges such as Gideon and Samson and
missionaries such as Hudson Taylor and Amy Carmichael. We have looked at
marvellous examples from creation that point us to a wonderful designer
and creator.
We always go ‘on camp’ once a year with the children, this year we have visited Pentrenant Hall in Powys Wales, for the second time.
We spent the weekend at the Hall and had a wonderful time with the children engaging in several activities such as Badminton, Danish long ball, tennis, tracking at night by torchlight in the grounds, tenpin bowling and numerous other games. The aim over the weekend was to teach the children about Noah’s Ark and its obvious parallels to the cross of Christ. We meet on Friday evenings in the church 6:30-8pm for children of primary school age. We have First Aiders present at the club from the nursing profession and the police force. The Club is open for the children to come and enjoy the many games we play, the choruses we sing and to listen to the Bible time. At the moment we have a good mixture of both boys and girls from 5-11yrs. And cater for the age difference in our many activities.
